    that systematic cool inspection of evacuos was left until the beginning of 1940, so that the Tables of Medical Inspection Returno (Form 8. a. M) submitted to the Borrd represent the full yerr's record for local children only, as in previous years. So much readjustment of evacuated attenders was found proceeding in the autumn months that it would have been very difficult to obtain numerical stability on which to arrange systematic medical examination visits for evacues. The Tables of medical treatment, also forwarded to the Board, shower separate figures, as requested, for local and for ovacuc children. It is submitted that the full year 1S40 should give more trustworthy comparative records, regarding, for instance, nutritional assessment, infection incidence, etc., after the incomers had been more or less absorbed and the atmosphere of nervousness and uncertainty cleared off. Hospital facilities for outbreaks of notifiable disease were ample, there being an unused reserve of 150 beds at the Borough Isolation Hospital. For domiciliary nursin_ of evacue children in the home, arrangement was come to with the Borough of Poole District Nursing Association, with the a.pproval of the Ministry of Ho 1th, at a visit rate of 2/-. In December, free milk, wheaten biscuits and cod liver oil and malt were being extended to 305 evacue children out of somewhat under 2,000, as compared with 486 local children from amongst 7,650.
