Description

Diary Extract, reading as follows: "In october 78 passing from affrick To america wt 150 slaves Moores & negroes: the 20 off the sd moneth and the 7 from our depart re from affrick They takeing occasion off our weakness being but 16 in all both for navigateing the ship and suppressing them revolted and killed 7 off our number before we could any (sic) the Lest advantage off them our fight extend'd 7 houres all off us wounded but 2. our Capt and his brother had all off them a wound in the head betwixt the sagital suture and the temporall muscles I was wounded wt an half pick betwixt the 6 & 7 false ribs" (fo. 18)
