About this work
Description
"Needle was started by a group of medical students and doctors in December 1970. The group was formed by people that had been involved in the first demonstrations against the cuts in social service expenditure proposed by the newly elected Tory government. As an on-going action it was decided to produce a magazine to act as a forum for radical ideas on health and the health service. The paper was to be produced by health workers for health workers. Despite this aim the paper initially remained one that was written by students and doctors although covering every aspect of the health service."--From The Last issue.
