About this work

Description

The Wellcome Research Institution organised an exhibit of 'historical and scientific exhibits' as part of the Medical Section, Applied Science and Industry Division of the International Exposition, Chicago. The WRI exhibit included contributions from the Bureau of Scientific Research, the Entomological Field Laboratories, the Physical Research Laboratories, the Chemical Research Laboratories, the Museum of Medical Science and the Historical Medical Museum. An exhibit was also mounted by Burroughs Wellcome & Co (USA) 'representing the results of pioneer research and scientific methods in the production of fine medicinal, galenical and chemical products'. The two exhibits were adjacent to each other within the Hall of Science, and produced separate illustrated catalogues
