A single-stem palm with ten simple green leaves and three collapsed dead leaves. The stem is illustrated in two sections, thus suggesting that a long segment of the stem had to be virtually removed to fit the composition on the paper. A long peduncle holds four rachillae that bear red fruits. An immature, interfoliar inflorescence emerges from among the leaves. Geonoma species are polymorphic and difficult to identify, even with physical specimens. The present painting cannot be determined to species
