After a composition by Annibale Carracci showing the Holy Family with St John the Baptist, known as the "Madonna Montalto", formerly in the Salviati collection, which was lost until its rediscovery in 2003, when it was offered for sale at Sotheby's, London, and subsequently acquired by the National Gallery, London. It was recorded in copies such as the present engraving by Cornelis Bloemaert (in reverse) and in several paintings, one of which was formerly in the Hermitage. See G.
