"'I have had a total colectomy (removal of the large intestine) and have a great scar from breast bone to pubic bone.' Simone was an acrobat, whose survival of illness and injury has given her an intense life force. Based on the Japanese practice of 'kintsugi', her scar has been celebrated in gold, contributed by the people of Albury."--Quote from Simone O'Brien and artist's notes on subjects.
