About this work

Description

Living with bi-polar disorder: this moving documentary explores the lives of four people living under the shadow of one of the most commonly misunderstood and diagnosed mental illnesses, bipolar disorder. The young mother, the party boy, the executive and the teacher all share a common goal: to live a normal life. We see their personal struggles as they each cope with the emotional highs and lows of the disorder. Through hard work and the hands-on support of their psychiatrist, they all begin to learn how to manage the extreme mood swings and to lead productive, balanced lives. Useful for an insight into healthcare provision in Canada and holistic mood disorder programs. DVD extras feature written case histories for the participants.
