About this work

Description

Second meitoic division in a mouse oocyte. The green stain shows the spindles and the blue stain shows the DNA. The division within the oocyte cell itself (lower) will generate a second polar body and the mature egg. The apparent division occuring in the first polar body (top) will not be completed and the polar body will eventually degenerate.
