The total acreage of the County Borough is 5,769 acres. This gives us 12-7 persons per acre, 2 persons ])er acre higher thiin last year. BIRTH RATE. The total number of Births registered in the district was :— Boys. Girls. Total. 639 567 1206 The birth rate per 1,000 on a population of 73,000 is 16'o2 per 1,000, a low rate when compared with that of the whole countiy, which is 26 3 per 1,000, but well up to the usual average in the County Rorough.
