About this work
Description
Wooden votive offering to St Roch, patron saint of plague, and a metal statuette of St Roch surmounted by a canopy of metal work on a wooden base. The ex-voto was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1929 and given accession number A67505. The statuette was acquired in Berlin at an unknown point and accessioned in 1925 (accession number R16065). They are not held by Wellcome Collection.
