About this work
Description
How have the massive amount of antibiotics we've taken and used in farming over the last few decades affected our environment? Tom Feilden visits the Federal Institute of Hydrology in Germany where they're developing simple, cheap techniques to remove pharmaceuticals from the waste that fertilises our soil and finds its way into our drinking water. And can we find antibiotics that will beat resistant bacteria? A new company, Aquapharm believes that a new source of antibiotics is to be found in deep oceans. Finally, can bacteriophages provide us with new ways of fighting bacteria?
