Pulmonary TB: plain chest x-ray

This x-ray shows bilateral increased shadowing in the upper zones. Note also that the hila are drawn up. This is consistent with upper lobe fibrosis from old tuberculosis. There may also be active disease, but this x-ray cannot distinguish old from active infection.
