Description

Bust of a man with a grim expression wearing a mason's cap, on a socle. As this bears no resemblance to standard portraits of Andrea Palladio, it is presumably an ideal or cult-portrait painted for the 16-year old William Grellier (1848-1934), subsequently F.R.I.B.A., possibly the son of the architect William Grellier (1807-1852)
