About this work

Description

Account-book of Thomas Mister, surgeon-apothecary of Shipston-on-Stour: continued by his sons William and John. The upper half of the first fly-leaf, and of the first leaf of the index have been cut away: 44 ff. and all after fol. 181 have been torn out. The ledger begins on January 1, 1766, and the latest entry is July 6, 1771 on fol. 134v. A pencilled note inside the first fly-leaf by a former owner states: 'Ledger of Mr. Thomas Mister, surgeon of Shipston-on-Stour, who died 1780.' The signatures William and John Mister are probably those of his sons. Produced in Shipston-on-Stour.
