    The difficulties of keeping the Hospital open for patients whilst the extensions were proceeding' soon made themselves manifest, and your Committee desire to place on record the very great assistance accorded them by the Guardians of the Holywell Union, who have gracefully allowed patients to be treated at their Infirmary. Without this aid the risk to our patients would have materially added to the anxiety of all con¬ cerned, as well as increasing the time for the actual work. The unfortunate Coal Stoppage has not only con¬ tributed to the delay in completing the extension, but has also deprived the Hospital of the highly-prized financial assistance of the workmen of the district. From this source our income decreased by £77 com¬ pared with the previous year. The Stoppage is hap¬ pily over, and your Committee look forward with every confidence to a full return during the coming year. Eighty-six In-patients and 344 Out-patients found relief at the Hospital and Dispensary during the year 1926, and whilst such numbers of our fellow creatures need its services, your Committee confidently appeal for support from the Benevolent. The increasing roll of accidents on our public roads and streets, many of wihich prove fatal, has necessitated public use of the ‘ Hospital Mortuary. Whilst this is primarily for the use of the Hospital, your Committee have no hesitation in allowing it to be freely available so long as public necessity requires. No duty transcends that of giving thanks, and in this acknowledgement of the legacies of the late Mr. Thomas Lloyd, of Abbey Villa, Greenfield, and of Mrs. Price, Whelstone House, Bagillt, your Committee desire to place on record the permanent value of this form of increasing their endowment. In both cases the warm interests of life are continued in their names, whilst time to them is no more.” Gifts to the Hospital continue to be acknow¬ ledged through the public Press, and your Committee are very grateful for this service, as by its rfiea'ns our
