About this work
Description
Letter from Lady Elizabeth Roper, daughter of 5th Baron Teynham, to her second cousin Richard Bellings-Arundell in Lanherne, Cornwall. She writes that she is hoping to marry Dr. Charles Jernegan, physician to Bellings-Arundell and brother-in-law of his cousin Margaret Jernegan. She is looking for his approval of the match, which he has evidently withheld in the past, apparently saying to her "how can any body like to be a Docters wife."
