About this work

Description

Is the future of the NHS at risk? Gerry Robinson investigates. As the government health reforms have generated such debate and confusion, he attempts to unpick what is about to change in the NHS service. Along the way he talks to GPs and patients about changes which are already instigated, such as sending patients to private hospitals for heart treatments rather than NHS hospitals because the private hospitals have more up to date equipment. Private healthcare providers come from a variety of places - Robinson talks to Ali Parsa, the Executive Director of Circle, a private healthcare provider. Robinson ends by hoping that the lastest healthcare reforms wont spell the end of the NHS.
