    Paying Patients.-^Whilst wenC ‘‘fern children I e been admitted under the scheme for the reception of paying patients, the constant demand upon the eight adult beds allocated for these patients has afforded ample proof of the need for the pro¬ vision of prjvatp -wards. 142 patients were admitted during the year to the pay-beds, and the sum of ,£1,437 was received in payment for their maintenance and treatment.
