About this work

Description

Over the last 20 years most of the older Victorian mental asylums have been demolished. Here, three women (Joyce, Pauline and Maureen) who spent many years of their lives mental asylums share stories of the hidden world therein. One of them was there from age 13 - 28 because she had epilepsy. Another was depressed and the third had post-natal depression. None of them felt they had any control over their being there - they had been sectioned - and the outside world seemed very far away.
