Biographical note

When responsibility for district nursing in Liverpool passed to the City Council in 1960, the Liverpool Victoria District Nursing Association offered their Central Nurses Home to the Institute, which established there a training home for courses in community nursing administration and teaching. The college was closed in 1975 as part of the Institute's attempts to reduce a huge budget deficit
