About this work

A bill-poster, far left, is adding to the considerable amount of information on the side wall of Bedlam. Among many names written or scratched on the wall are those of Blucher, the Prussian general, ally of the Duke of Wellington; Kean, the actor; Johanna Southcott, the prophetess; Giardelli; and Young. There are three pictures of balloons, presumably advertising those which made ascents from Artillery Fields, the northern part of Moorfields
