Description
Convicted of murdering John Penny in Clement's Inn, London, Hall pleaded guilty and was sentenced to death. He was hanged at the (north?) end of Catherine Street off the Strand, London, on 15 September 1741. His dead body afterwards hung in chains at Shepherd's Bush. Portrayed wearing manacles on his ankles, in a cell in Newgate prison, with a barred window on the left
