About this work

Description

Professor Young began writing a memoir titled "There Was Always Time: Stories from the life of a fortunate woman, 20th century slipping into the 21st century". Several chapters exist in draft form, covering women's education, schooling of an orphan of the British Empire, halcyon university days in London 1933-1938, World War II blood transfusion service, Bedford College in Cambridge, teaching medical students post war medicine, and Professor Young's extensive worldwide travels in France, USA, South America, Germany, Finland, Japan and the orient.

"These reminiscences were started in 2007 when I decided to take a course in writing in the evenings at Cambridge...".
