The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "A group of fifteen men in various costumes in a tableau entitled 'The power of the press'. Several wear smock-dresses, their yokes emblazoned with the names of popular newspapers: The Daily Mail, The War Cry, The Morning Star, etc. The backdrop is formed of the Japanese flag."
