Genius or native understanding is personified by a tousle-haired young man on the left holding a tablet. On the right is Memory personified by a woman with two faces. In the centre a winged and crowned woman personifies the will in a state of paralysis: winged cherubs blow horns in her right and left ears, urging her in different directions
