Biographical note

Fraser recorded,

'The pedigree of the Ayrshire family of Kerr Love is reproduced from my publication (Fraser, 'Genetic approaches to the nosology of deafness'). The pedigree shows that some members emigrated from Scotland to Australia where I ascertained them during my stay in Adelaide (1966-1967). Pedigree VII-4 on page 111 [of The Causes of Profound Deafness in Childhood] may also be descended from these immigrants.

My cases (see acknowledgements) are among those used in the reprint included to demonstrate older paternal age in the case of the Waardenburg syndrome (Chapter VII of The Causes of Profound Deafness in Childhood, Table VII-4 on page 129).'
