Note-book containing 'Lectiones' on the 13th book of the Iliad; 'Analecta quaedam ex libris Aristotelis de anima'; 'de morbis, morbi causis, symptomatis et signis, ex Joanne Fernelio, Sennerto, et aliis', etc. Author's holograph MS. Contents: (1) Notes on the 'Iliad' Book XIII (ll. 1-26). (2) Notes on the 'De anima' (ll. 28-52). (3) Notes on pathology and semeiology (ll. 53-84). (4) Medical receipts, mainly in Latin, a few in English (ll. 84-103). (5) Notes on the pulse, and semeiology (ll. 104-end).

1 volume 139 ll. 8vo. 15 x 10 cm. Original calf binding. A leaf has been torn out at the end of the notes on the Iliad, and some leaves may be wanting at the end.

Acquisition note

Purchased 1932.

Biographical note

Signature 'Tomas [sic] Bathurst' inside the cover, and of 'Mary Bathurst' on the second leaf. This lady may have been his wife, as the script is contemporary. The compiler of these notes became M.D. at Leyden in 1659, and at Oxford in 1662.
