The Toddington Estate water sux^ply v;aG purchased for the sum of £2120. PiXtension of Existing V/ater Mains . 5,000 yards of 4” main relaid ?.t Bishops Cleeve, ''J7ood- mancote & Southam at a cost of £3440. 750 yards of 6 main at Southam, estime-ted cost £760. 3750 ya,rds of 4 and 7 mains at Toddington, estimated cost £3650. All gathering grounds were inspected. ^112 samxoles of water were taken for analysis of which 54 were satisfactory o.nd 58 unsatisfactory. There v;ere 117 nev/ connections with the public water supply, 51 being v/ith the Borough and 66 v;ith the Rural District mains. One spring at Cleeve Hill was found to be contaminated and discarded. During Play p.nd Junu the use of water at Bishops Cleeve and Cleeve Hill v/as curtailed^ Drainage & Sev;erage. Private undertaking o,t Southam were taken over and modernised. A new sev/age scheme in connection v/ith a factory at Southam v/as cornraenced during the year at an estimated cost of £6360. Sanction was received to raise a. loan for dis- posal works, at Greet at an estimated cost of £1750, but the work wa,s not proceeded with. ;Hivers and Streams. Pollution of the Hyde Brook occurred as a result of the occupation of Prestbury Pia,cecourse by tbc Milita.ry Authorities.
