These papers were donated to the library at Wellcome Collection by Dr Hodgkinson's daughter in 2004.
Biographical note
Ruth Hodgkinson was a medical historian. She was at one time associated with the Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine and published on a range of subjects, including social medicine, medical education, the medical provisions of he nineteenth-century Poor Law and the origins of the National Health Service. In addition, she took an interest in the history of medicine in North America.
