    VI. futile for one to hope to acquire a logical conception of the physiological changes which persist in the body, so long as human existence prevails, unless, at least, a rudimentary study is made of these subjects. To facilitate the correct interpretation of the technical terms I have used, in the sense I desire ; and to add to the educational value of that which I have written, I have also included a short glossary.
