Description

Wooden statue of St Anthony of Padua, also known as Saint Anthony of Lisbon (1195-1231) holding the infant Jesus Christ. Invoked for successful pregnancy and against contagious dieases, sterility and fever. The item was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1955 (accession number R38/1955). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.

Wooden statue of Michael the Archangel invoked against sudden death and by people on their deathbed. The item was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1935 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4838/1937). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.

Wooden statue of Saint Eufemia. The item was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R163/1938). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.
