![SALE OF FOOD AND DRUGS ACTS, 1875-1907. Aoliiig- Inspectoi- : Mr. VV. D. Carter. During the year 1915, 243 samples of Food and Drugs were obtained, of which number 149 samples were formally purchased or taken ’’ in accordance with the provisions of the Acts, 94 samples were purchased informally and submitted as ‘ ‘ test samples ” to the Analyst. Of 243 samples 193 or 79.42 per cent., were re- ported genuine, 24 or 9.87 per cent, were poor or doubtful quality, and 26 or 10.69 adulterated or in some way deficient. MILK. Eighty-three samples of milk were officially purchased or ‘ ‘ taken ’ ’ and submitted to the Public Anatyst who reported adversely upon ten of the samples. Of the adulterated samples two were deficient in milk fat and seven contained added water, etc., one contained 0.04 per cent boric acid, equal to 28 grains per gallon .
