About this work

Description

Histopathology of the liver: amoebic abscess This is a medium power view of liver from a patient with early abscess formation. The upper left of the picture shows an area of necrosis with several amoebic trophozoites (large, pale cells with a single nucleus). The lower and right parts of the picture show a dense inflammatory infiltrate (small, dark cells) and residual hepatocytes (orange-pink). See images W0044336 and W0044338 for low and high power views of the same case.
