Folder 1: Papers by Mayneord include "Commonwealth Conference on Protection Against Nuclear and Allied Radiations" (1956); "Radiological Research" (1958). Includes correspondence with the Home Office concerning Mayneord's role as Regional Scientific Adviser to the London Civil Defence Region; correspondence concerning the radon concentration in water supplies in North Devon; correspondence with MRC Statistical Research Unit concerning atmospheric radioactivity and water supplies; correspondence concerning the incidence of leukaemia in patients suffering from ankylosing spondylitis and treated with x-rays (including report).


Folder 2: Correspondence regarding invitations to speak at conferences and attend events, and other related matters, including correspondence concerning a meeting with the Department of Radiotherapeutics, University of Cambridge; correspondence with publishers concerning the publication of a text on radioactivity and health; correspondence with Oregon University inviting Mayneord to apply for a senior foreign scientist fellowship.


Folder 3: Correspondence, mostly regarding Mayneord's work with the UN Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation and the Atomic Energy Office's Radioactive Substances Advisory Committee. Includes the US Atomic Energy Commission's document on "Permissable Levels of External Radiation" (1951), with commentary; correspondence and circulated papers from the Radioactive Substances Advisory Committee; correspondence and papers from the UN Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation, and related notes and correspondence.
