Creator/production credits

Burroughs Wellcome and Company was founded in London in 1880 by two Americans, Silas M. Burroughs and Henry S. Wellcome. A large sculpture of an American eagle was displayed in their main office at Snow Hill, Farringdon. Though many of their products were designed to eliminate the pharmacists' need to make up their own medicines, Henry S. Wellcome was well aware of the role of pestles and mortars as traditional symbols of the pharmacist's art
