Description
The poet neglects his wife and baby and spends money on a sword and a wig. Nemesis is shown in the form of the scolding milkmaid and the dog who steals the meat chop.

Lettering within the print: the poet is writing "Poverty a poem", the "Grubstreet Journall" lies on the floor and the print on the wall reads "Pope's letters veni vidi vici 1735 the curl"
