Description

Fuyao shiji (dietary prohibitions during medication) refers to foods that are counterindicated for patients taking certain drugs. According to Yinshan zhengyao, drugs containing atractylodes macrocephala (baizhu) are incompatible with peaches, plums, sparrow flesh, coriander, garlic and black carp; drugs containing Coptis Chinensis (huanglian) or Platycodon grandiflorum (jiegeng) are incompatible with pork; drugs containing liquorice are incompatible with Chinese cabbage and seaweed.
