    LETTER from Messrs Bluhm and Roos. “ Sir, “ The undersigned have the honour of laying before you the result of the trials made with tar vapour in the hospital for the poor, according to the directions we received from you. We have found the easiest and best way of making the tar fumigation, (pix liquida,) is to put the tar in any earthen vessel over a lamp or heated iron, to cause a slow volatili- zation, until the air of the ward be sufficient- ly impregnated with it.
