About this work

Description

The building remains unidentified. G.D. Peters & Co., founded in 1869, made fittings and furnishings for railway carriages and locomotives. They had a factory in Slough and a showroom in Moorfields, London. This may be a design for, or a record of, their London office at 66 Cheapside, City of London. The building on that site was demolished for the building of the office of an insurance company (British General Insurance) in 1930-1933. The address of G.D. Peters is also given as 120 Cheapside
