    APIS. Neck and Back.—Swelling in back of neck in gouty patients. Back of neck stiff. Rheumatic stitches in right side of back of neck. Pains extending from shoulder up to back of neck. Pain in back over shoulder blades ; worse on right side. Backache. Chills running over back. Back feels bruised. Extremities in General.—Trembling of hands and feet, Swelling about joints. Superior Extremities.—Drawing pains in arms that begin at shoulders, and extend to ends of fingers. Aching in right shoulder and upper portion of the arm. Numbness of fingers, especially tips. Inferior Extremities.—Lower limbs feel paralyzed. Dull pains as if in bones of lower extremities. Sore pain in left hip joint. Drawing through thighs to tips of the toes, with numb sensation in the latter. Sensation in toes, and the WHOLE FOOT, AS IF TOO LARGE, SWOLLEN AND STIFF. Burning and pricking in feet. Accompaniments.—General feeling of lassitude, with ' trembling. Great weakness at intervals. The whole surface of the body becomes exceedingly sensitive to touch. (Edema of hands. Great increase and intensity of the odor from axillary glands. Very distinct sensation of numbness in fingers, especially in their tips. Sensation of soreness, lame, bruised feeling, as if from recent injury, from being jammed, bruised or beaten. Intense sensation of suffocation. Dull, aching pain and stitches in left side of chest. Eyelids much swollen, red and cedematous. Burning, stinging pains. Urine scanty and high colored, or profuse and hot. Prickling over whole body. Great desire to sleep. Tongue dry with scalding sensation in mouth, but absence of thirst. Closed rooms, if overheated, are intolerable. Apis precedes or follows Arsen. with good results, but its antagonism to Rhus tox. should not be forgotten.
