About this work

Description

Shows plant with yellow daisy-like flowers on branching stems. Dark green leaves. Contains triterpenoid sapogenins. Has been used externally in compresses to soothe inflamed or irritated skin. Slows the heartbeat and reduces stimulation of the nerve endings in the airways which helps to reduce coughing. Has been used as a calming agent in acute asthma.
