I may alfo add, that, as the fe- male organs of generation differ from thofe be- longing to the other jex, fo do the venereal fymp- toms, affetling thofe organs, vary from the ap- pearance they affume in males. But this dijlinc- tion being moji effential in what is called the jirji fiage of the difeafe, I Jhall confine myfelf to the confideration of that only. As my intention is purely to put a compendious account of the appearance and treatment of the female gonorrhea, into the hands of the junior branches oj the projejfion, who, in general, have but objcure ideas oj thoje matters, I jhall convey my jentiments in as jew words as pojjible, and avoid entering into theoretical difquijitions, which have a greater tendency to mijlead than to convey any ujejul information. Some oj the obfervations may be thought new, but others mufi unavoidably be fuch as are to be found elfewhere; however, I fubmit the whole, on a firm affurance that it is founded on reafon and experience.
