The pills were supposed to be unequalled as a cathartic medicine and cure constipation, indigestion, dyspepsia, biliousness, heartburn, flatulence, loss of appetite, foul stomach, nausea, dizziness, headache, numbness, jaundice, diarrhoea, dysentery, disorders of the liver, skin diseases, piles, rheumatism, gout, neuralgia, dropsy, colds and kidney complaints.</p>
