Description

False-coloured scanning electron micrograph of a single cell from the human oral squamous cell carcinoma cell line VB6. This cell was cultured on a collagen matrix which is visible beneath the cell. Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common form of oral cancer (mouth cancer), and originates in squamous cells found in the mouth and in the epidermis of the skin. Width of image is 18.5 micrometres.
