Guidi, Leto (1711-1777)

Ottica prattica, o sia modo facile, e sicuro per travgliare i principali lavori ottici. Illustrated with numerous pen-drawn figures and diagrams, and a wash drawing (fol. 129) of a 'Corno d'Alessandro'. This MS is anonymous, and possibly unfinished, but a comparison of text with MS. 2653 shows that it is a longer and probably earlier version of the same work which is by 'Guidi' (1711-1777). Produced in Florence.

He is perhaps the person entered on p. 50 (No. 2707) in the 'Catalogo con aggiornamenti. Instituto e Museo di Storia delle Scienze' Florence 1952, whose full name was Leto Guidi of Vallambrosa.
