The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Two privates performing with ‘The Issues’, unidentified concert party attached to unidentified unit with B.E.F. [British Expeditionary Force] circa 1915-16. Private Broom on the left looks very attractive in his drag, has a very small cinched waist, and looks as if he’s done it before."
