About this work

Description

Visualisation of action and calcium during cycles 10-14 of Drosophila development. Embryo was co-injected with Calcium green dextran and rhodamine-labelled actin and confocal images taken. NB Animations may not be in synchrony. They show the progress of the cells for two cell cycles. The tubulin is concentrated in the spindles and spindle poles during metaphase and anaphase, then is excluded from the nuclei (dark areas) until nuclear envelope breakdown, when the tubulin can enter the nucleus. Ca signals correlate with metaphase/anaphase portions of cell cycle.
