Description
Account book of a retail chemist. Partly compiler's holograph MS. The compiler had a chemist's business in Thorne near Doncaster, and the entries until 1892 are holograph: later entries are by several different hands. The last 34 ll. starting from the other end of the volume contain a holograph Day Book for 1847-1852, from which it appears that Armitage was also a grocer, and kept a general store: he also sold 'British Wines'.
