About this work

Description

The two bundles of motor neurons forming the motor component of the oculomotor nucleus in the brain of a 10 day old chick embryo. The axons project through the pons towards their exit point from the brain. From there they form the oculomotor nerve and carry the motor signals from the brain to the eye muscles. They have been injected with the fluorescent dye, DiI to make them visible.
